How to get Pikachu in Pokemon Go
Pokémon GO is the second massively-multiplayer online augmented reality role-playing game by Niantic Labs, the company that developed the highly popular location based game, Ingress, which worked on similar game mechanics. Pokémon GO is an augmented reality game and is location based, and features some unusual functions that most games do not. Pokémon GO allows players to view the Pokémon that are present at the physical location somewhere around them using their devices’ cameras.
Though the game hasn’t been currently released in more than a few countries, it still has managed to receive enough downloads to beat the records held by some of the most popular mobile games and other applications. The game has trashed out some of the characteristic and most basic elements of Pokémon RPGs, but is still a lot of fun to play.
There’s a large variety of Pokémon to be caught by players, and all of them are usually found around places that are associated with the Pokémon’s elements. For example, a water-type Pokémon will usually be found near a lake or any other water body. There are huge numbers and varieties of Pokémon to be found across places – but what about Pikachu?
Missing out on this overcharged rat is nothing less than – um; really, really – bad?
Anyway, Pikachu has always been the most-loved Pokémon, mainly because of its role in the anime. Unfortunately and unsurprisingly, Pikachu is often hard to find in Pokémon GO; however, still possible. We’ll tell you how to get Pikachu in Pokémon GO without having to spend weeks looking for it.
#1 Walk Away
When you’re done with creating your character and confront Professor Willow, you’ll be asked to catch one of the three Pokémon around you. Well, don’t do that.
Walk away from the Pokémon until they are out of your range. However, they’ll simply appear somewhere within your range again; and when they do, walk out of the range again. Once you’ve repeated this several times, a Pikachu will also appear with the rest of the Pokémon for you to catch. This takes different number of repetitions for everyone, so try to not give up on it too quickly.
#2 Look For the Characteristic Element
Every Pokémon in this game is found near places carrying their type elements, and that means that a Pikachu is likely to be seen around a place with a lot of electricity. And no, this does not include your light bulb or a broken electricity pole.
Pikachus have been reported by players to have been seen around powerhouses and electric grids. This Pokémon has also been found by people at science centers and zoos.
#3 Try Messing Your Schedule Up
We’re kidding – don’t do something like that; just try looking for a Pikachu at places that you already have had visited, but at a significantly different time of the day. People have found Pikachus at unexpected places, so if you’re trying to figure out how to get Pikachu in Pokémon GO, this method might work out.
